If we want to keep our body balanced, we need to stop chasing all the latest trends. It's about giving your cells the raw materials they actually need to function. Minerals and vitamins are the building blocks of energy, hormone health, brain clarity, and strong immunity. When we’re depleted, the symptoms show up everywhere: fatigue, brain fog, poor digestion, hair loss, mood swings, even sleep issues.
Below are some of my favorite supplements that help restore balance in a safe, food-first, bioavailable way.
1. Magnesium (3 Forms for Different Needs)
Magnesium is the “relaxation mineral.” It supports over 300 enzymatic processes, helps calm the nervous system, and aids in sleep, energy, and muscle recovery. I rotate between:
Magnesium Glycinate – for calming and sleep support.
Magnesium Malate – for energy production and muscle function.
Topical Magnesium Oil – absorbed directly through the skin, bypassing digestion.
2. Cod Liver Oil
Rich in natural vitamin A and D, plus omega-3s. It’s an ancestral powerhouse that supports immune resilience, brain function, and hormone balance. I look for brands with minimal processing and no synthetic additives.
3. Beef Liver (Capsules or Desiccated Powder)
Nature’s multivitamin. Beef liver is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, packed with vitamin A, copper, iron (in a balanced form), and B vitamins. It’s the best whole-food way to rebuild energy and support mineral balance.
4. Bee Products (Bee Pollen & Propolis)
Bee Pollen: A natural source of B vitamins, enzymes, and amino acids. Great for energy and resilience.
Bee Propolis: Antimicrobial and immune-supportive, like a natural shield for the body.
5. Whole Food Vitamin C
Instead of synthetic ascorbic acid, I prefer vitamin C from whole-food sources like camu camu, amla, or acerola. Vitamin C helps with collagen production, immune defense, and iron regulation.
6. Nutritional Yeast
A non-fortified version provides natural B vitamins (especially B1, B2, B6), minerals, and protein. It’s a simple way to support energy and nerve health without synthetic additives.
7. Mineral Drops
Trace minerals are often stripped from our water and soils. Adding mineral drops to filtered water replenishes electrolytes and supports hydration at the cellular level.
8. Whole Food Vitamin E
True vitamin E comes in a complex of tocopherols and tocotrienols, not just isolated alpha-tocopherol. It supports hormone health, cell membrane stability, and acts as a powerful antioxidant.
9. Diatomaceous Earth (Food Grade)
A natural source of silica, which supports connective tissue, hair, skin, nails, and detox pathways. I use small amounts mixed with water to keep things gentle.
10. Iodine (from Food Sources)
Instead of high-dose synthetic iodine, I stick with food-based forms like kelp or dulse. Iodine is essential for thyroid function and overall energy regulation, but it needs to stay balanced with selenium.
Final Thoughts
Supplements should never replace nutrient-dense, whole foods but they can help fill in the gaps left by modern soils, stress, and lifestyle factors. Think of them as partners in restoring your body’s natural balance.
When choosing supplements, I always prioritize:
Whole food or minimally processed sources
No synthetic additives or fillers
Brands I trust and have used myself
